Management Committee COMPANY PROFILE Crawford & Company is the world's largest independent provider of diversified services to insurance companies, self-insured corporations and governmental entities. Amongst the many services provided are claims management, loss adjustment, healthcare management; risk management services, class action administration, and risk information services. Crawford & Company is based in Atlanta. It has approximately 10,000 employees worldwide, and operates over 700 offices in 65 countries. Over the years we have worked for the world's major insurance companies, Lloyd's Underwriters, brokers captives and other principals and have handled some of the most significant claims in the history of insurance. Backed up by this long tradition, we pride ourselves on our deep understanding of all insurance markets and our ability to provide first class service whenever and wherever it is required. In Malaysia, we currently have a total of 170 personnel of whom 105 are professional loss adjusters or specialists. Our staff includes chartered loss adjusters, civil, mechanical or electrical engineers or those with degrees or diplomas in accountancy, law, materials science and computers. A few of our staff are also in the various stages of qualifying in their insurance and/or loss adjusting examinations. In addition to our own in-house expertise, we have access to a wealth of experience and knowledge within the Crawford Group either in the region where we have offices in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Taiwan and Hong Kong or globally. Crawford & Company Adjusters (Malaysia) Sdn.Bhd commenced its operations in Malaysia in 1978 following the purchase of the firm of Syarikat Equitable Adjusters Sdn Bhd, which had been founded in Penang in January 1970 and which then had offices in Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur. In 1979, the name was formally changed to Thomas Howell (M) Sdn Bhd in June 1979 and three year later to Thomas Howell Kiewit (M) Sdn Bhd. Following the acquisition of Thomas Howell Group by Crawford & Company, we changed our name to Crawford & Company Adjusters (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd., in January, 2000.
The Company’s pursuit of excellence continued with the introduction of new products and services, one of which was the provision of outsourced claims management services. This new and innovative service, won us the "Innovation of the Year" award at the Asia Insurance Industry Awards, 1999 held in Singapore. We were again voted the “Adjuster of the Year 2002” at the 6th Asia Insurance Industry Awards held in Tokyo in October 2002 and organised by The Insurance Review and The Review. This award is in recognition of our ability to respond to catastrophic occurrences and to the smaller but high frequency travel and health insurance portfolios of our customers as well as in our diverse expertise and strong capability for innovation.

In our
continuing efforts to ensure that we have a high quality service standard in
place to meet the requirements of our clients, the company through its Kuala
Lumpur office embarked on a MS ISO 9002 accreditation programme. On
January 11, 1995, our Kuala Lumpur office was awarded the MS ISO 9002
certificate by SIRIM; making us the first insurance loss adjusting company
in Malaysia, and out of the UK, to be certified.
